Comic book characters are bad role models
As a kid, I always looked forward to reading comics — you know, “funnies” — because they were funny. And here I am, I’m almost 86, and I still like to read funny books.
I don’t know who is responsible for your selection of comics, but I dare say that some of them encourage immoral behavior as well as disrespect for elders and authority.
Is this what we want to teach our children through comics? After all, the caricatures in the comics serve as models of sorts.

Decide if we want to attend sporting events
Watching the Los Angeles Dodgers play baseball in a packed stadium of 50,000 people side by side, hopefully without ill effects, made me think of our sports teams in Hawaii playing in front of empty houses.
Hawaii’s misguided officials are on a journey that locks us all in and robs us of the pleasure of being there in person to see our great players win, win, win. We can make our own choices. We don’t need officials to tell us about participation in sporting events.

Photos deter people from getting vaccinated
Stop it!
Why do you feature photos like the one featured in your October 1 issue: the look of horror on the face of the man getting the shot? So go! I don’t like the injections, but I had all three and didn’t even feel any pinching.
This is not the way to encourage people to get vaccinated. Please be of help!
