RIDI launches Manta, a new subscription webcomics service optimized for binge-reading

Seoul, South Korea–(BUSINESS WIRE)–RIDI Corporation sets foot to buck the trend in comic culture with the introduction of Manta, a global online comic book service.

Manta features a diverse collection of webcomics including but not limited to romance, fantasy, slice of life, horror, mystery, thriller and Manta Originals – its own original content.

Unlike any other webcomic service, readers can get unlimited access to a rich pool of content that has been curated to target every individual’s tastes for $3.99/month.

RIDI has been leading the e-book platform business in South Korea for 10 years and has expanded its business across various genres of digital content, including web novels, web comics, and animations. The company revealed that Manta will build on years of experience in Korea’s digital content industry and move forward as a global service.

“With Manta, we strive to make webcomic reading a mainstream entertainment culture around the world,” said Kisik Bae, CEO of RIDI. “North America is just the beginning – we will expand our service so people around the world can easily access and enjoy webcomic content in their own language.”

Manta plans to provide an even more diverse webcomic experience by expanding the production of original content based on movies, TV shows, and games.

Manta is now available on iOS, Android and on the web (https://manta.net).
