Tauhid Bondia Comic Spreads Like… Well, Like Crabgrass
A few months ago we noticed that when Crabgrassthe new comic Tauhid Bondiamade his debut, he did, among other things, in the entire group of daily newspapers McClatchy.
Last Sunday we reported that Crabgrass was one of the signed comics by The Waco Tribune Herald. At that time, we said that when they signed Andrews McMeel Syndication (AMS) as their exclusive comics supplier:
If this is a company-wide decision on the part of Lee Enterprises,
and there’s no indication that it’s (yet) AMS getting a nice slice of the pie.
Well, we’re not ready to call that a fact just yet, but Andrews McMeel’s new comic, Crabgrass, seems to be taking over Lee Enterprise’s Diaries.
Today the Sioux City (Iowa) Journal Bruce Miller interviewed cartoonist Tauhid.
But what’s really significant are the other Lee Enterprises websites that also did the interview.
The Buffalo News, The Rapid City Journal, The Danville Register & Bee, Roanoke Times, etc. I was going to name the eight newspapers that were originally on the list, but, going back, the count jumped to 41 Lee Enterprise websites offering the interview at the time of this writing! Almost half of the Lee newspapers. And the interview continues to spread.
Kudos to Tauhid on a great start – and a great comic.
disclosure: The Daily Cartoonist plays on the same turf as Andrews McMeel.
